Title: A bifurcation control approach for musical timber analysis and geometric understanding of musical chords

Abstract:

In this talk, I explain our approach (joint with Ahmad Shoghi, my last PhD student at IUT) for the analysis and simulation of music using bifurcation control of singular Eulerian flows. I briefly describe how abstract mathematical tools from Lie algebras on manifold, CW complexes from algebraic topology, bifurcation theory, Fourier analysis, and computer algebra system simulations are required for a successful analysis of musical chords and reconstructions of tone coloring of musical instruments. We show how bifurcation theorems sound in music.
