๐ปThe relative adverb when can be replaced by โin/on whichโ. Where can be replaced by โin/at whichโ. Why can be replaced by โfor whichโ.
๐ฒ๐ปI donโt know the day when he came. (= I donโt know the day on which he came.)
๐ก I know the house where he lives. (= I know the house in which he lives.)
๐ป Do you know a shop where I can buy used laptops? (= Do you know a shop at which I can buy used laptops?)
๐ญ Do you know the reason why she cried? (= Do you know the reason for which she cried.)
๐ป Here are some more sentences that need a preposition:
"This is the table from which I took the book; This is the table which I took the book from." You can see that "This is the table which I took the book" doesn't work.
"This is the man to whom I owe the money; This is the man whom I owe the money to"
