Markets/economics:
-Trump announced that he will hit Canada, Mexico, and China with a first round of tariffs on Saturday. He has also publicly mulled Eurozone (EU) tariffs.

-In case you missed it, The Fed chose to keep rates steady at its announcement this week.

-People were very worried about the market this week.
--The consensus narrative was that it was the emergence of DeepSeek that was tanking the “AI trade.” --I don’t buy that. All in all, they aren’t down that much:
--S&P 500 ended Friday in the red, only down 1% on the week.
--NASDAQ, which should be the most sensitive to the AI trade, ended down 1.64% on the week.
--The Russell 2000 ended the week down 0.86%

-Oil rose to $73.81 on Friday, up 0.87% on the week

-Gold hit a new ATH, now at $2,809.30 as of Friday’s close.
--The BoE just got caught “swimming naked” and lending out more gold receipts than it actually had on hand, so things could get very interesting in gold pricing.

-European markets were in the green mostly on Friday, which is nuts considering what is going on across the pond right now.

-German unemployment just hit a 10-year high according to @MacroEdgeRes and their market is green. Mmmmmkay.

-On top of unemployment, the ECB decided to cut its savings rate to 2.75% this week, which is lower than Germany’s inflation, meaning that once again savers are losing money.
--And their markets are up.

-The BOJ raised their rates from 0.25 to 0.5, and the USDJPY pair is at $155.1810

-Bonds are still heavy on the long-tail:
--13-week: 4.1880
--5-year: 4.3640
--10-year: 4.5690
--30-year: 4.8130

-BTC had a bouncy week, but is back at $102,656.63 as of Friday evening

-Another massive revision of the Biden admin economic data just occurred for Q2 2024.
--The birth/death estimate that the Biden admin announced (and the media happily repeated with no investigation): +951,000 jobs
--The actual numbers: -163,000 jobs

Business:
-Shares in UPS tumbled after the shipper announced that it would slash its shipping for online retail giant Amazon.

-While this is German rather than domestic, the German industrial group Thyssenkrupp announced that it will cut another 5,000 workers from its steel business.

Health:
-For the 2nd article today from Jeff & Hans (Truth Over News), we have a deep dive into the Coof, lockdowns, and coverup that is worth revisiting for those who don’t remember or never really looked into just how much nefariousness was involved in creating the “official narrative:”

-To that end, Seymour Hersch has released his own reporting stating that the CIA knew well in advance, via an embedded intelligence asset at the Wuhan Lab, that the Coof was loose.

-One of the Senators opened Pandora’s Box during RFK Jr’s hearing by trying to ridicule his previous comment that Lyme disease was most likely not naturally occuring.

Geopolitics:
-Romania’s Georgescu, who most likely would have been president there if the elections hadn’t been canceled, has publicly stated that Ukraine will likely be divided up.
--For those who don’t know, UKR has only been an independent nation since 1991. The Dnieper river is a natural boundary line, so dividing the country rather than continuing with intense Balkanization may be a wise move.

-Slovakia had elections this week, and security forces there have stated that the “rent-a-riot” protestors were largely Ukranian with many of the “usual suspect” NGOs involved.
--Shouldn’t those guys be on the front lines of the war in their country that is conscripting 18-year-olds now?

-UK pols are using a loophole via local councils to increase homeowners taxes up to 25% as doing so is supposed to require a referendum and vote.
--There is a cost to going full woke, Britain.

According to the TSE, this would enable the authorities to track false content and identify the user responsible for publishing it in the first place. Image: Telegram.
