تذكير لمن يمر عليهم أول عيد بعد وفاة قريب لهم-أب، أم، أخ، أو غيرهم: تجديد الحزن على المتوفى بدعة تنافي المقصود الشرعي للعيد. فلا يصح أن يلبس النساء السواد ويمتنع أهل المتوفى عن إظهار مظاهر الفرح ويحولوا العيد إلى عزاء ! وهذا كله لا ينفع الميت بشيء، ولا هو شرط لإظهار الوفاء له. قال شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية رحمه الله: " الأعياد هي من أخص ما تتميز به الشرائع ، ومن أظهر ما لها من الشعائر " .
وقال الحافظ ابن حجر رحمه الله : " إِظْهَار السُّرُورِ فِي الْأَعْيَادِ مِنْ شِعَارِ الدِّينِ"
(ذلك ومن يعظم شعائر الله فإنها من تقوى القلوب).
