Concise Matt Hussey, editorial director of NEAR Protocol (and former editor-in-chief of Decrypt) responded to the news of the Telegram group with β#meIRL.β Hui said the time period and nature of some offences βoverlappedβ and thus their prison terms could be served concurrently. The judge ordered Ng to be jailed for a total of six years and six months. Judge Hui described Ng as inciting others to βcommit a massacreβ with three posts teaching people to make βtoxic chlorine gas bombs,β target police stations, police quarters and the cityβs metro stations. This offence was βrather serious,β the court said. Ng was convicted in April for conspiracy to incite a riot, public nuisance, arson, criminal damage, manufacturing of explosives, administering poison and wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm between October 2019 and June 2020.
