قال رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- في وصيته لابن عباس -رضي الله عنه-: "*و أعلم أن ما أخطأك لم يكن ليصيبك، وما أصابك لم يكن ليخطئك*" .

"أن الإنسان لا ينجو من الأمور المكروهة بحذقه ومهارته وشدة تحرزه وتوقيه، إنما عليه أن يبذل السبب فحسب، *فإن ما قدره الله عليه لابد أن يلحقه، وما لم يكن مكتوباً عليه فلا يمكن أن يقع عليه*، فلم تكن نجاة الإنسان حينما نجا من مهلكة بسبب حذقه، إنما لأن الله لم يقدّر عليه هذا🍂.

والعكس كذلك، وإذا عرف الإنسان هذا المعنى فإنه لا يتحسر بسبب ما ينزل به من الكروب والمصائب، وإنما ليس عليه إلا الصبر، وأن يحتسب عند الله الأجر؛ لأن هذا لا مدفع له، ولهذا قيل: لا يُنجي حذر من قدر".
