للاطلاع على عملية تدفق المياه من سد الرستن ووصولها إلى المزارع في جنوب حماة، زار السيد المهندس "أحمد كوان"، المدير العام للهيئة العامة للموارد المائية في سوريا، سد الرستن وأجزاء من مجرى نهر العاصي، برفقة مدير الموارد المائية في حماة المهندس "رياض عبيد".

وتأتي هذه الزيارة بعد يوم واحد من إطلاق دفعة جديدة من مياه سد الرستن باتجاه مناطق ريف حمص الشمالي وريف حماة الجنوبي، عقب مناشدات من الفلاحين والمزارعين بضرورة فتح السد لري المزروعات والأشجار المثمرة لإنقاذها من موجة الجفاف الحاصلة.
