for a day, sec appears as communauté d'ameublement in the national gallery of armenia.

in our infinite attempts to merge academic approach and underground culture we wish to fit in the diverse and various events/activities that may slightly transform the surroundings for sec_receivers.
we work as an organized force that unites background_s/wish/es_ of/ our community members to create conjoint expression that acts as a furniture_/ standing/ for ones comfort.

we had only six days to adapt and widen already existing ideas/installations to the renovated halls of national gallery of armenia.
sec appreciates the openness/trust/_ that was given to our members. some of them are still not used//being artists!
/working on that/

experimenting with concepts/acoustics/spaces/people are continuing_

an interactive installation with a stick and a stone, fitted with a piezo sensor that captures, amplifies, and transforms sound. through drawing on the walls, every gesture becomes part of a musical composition — an improvisational form of percussion available to anyone, where movement generates sound, and the desire to create sound alters the movement.

this interactive installation is composed of three modular synthesizers playing a generative patch reminiscent of the sounds of nature. a proximity sensor embedded in the piece reacts to surrounding movement: as the listener approaches, the sound shifts. the work investigates how sound directs attention, orients the gaze, and influences imagination. what we hear may not align with where we look — and what we see often reshapes what we believe we've heard.

many other sec_people took part, helping with concepts, construction, communication, and organization.
they are: anton shchegolev, svetlana sidorova, sasha kainer, pavel fahrutdinov, andrew rylov, alexey tarasenko, dasspiegelbild, and dmitrii galchinskii.

big thanks to all who supports sec with a kind word!

sec is looking for a new home!
please help us — share this post.

dear sec_scribers,
our current building in hayart cultural center will be reconstructed soon, and there won't be any room left for our studio. by the end of june, we have to find a new place!

here is what we are looking for:
_a long-term space in the kentron/arabkir area (300k-500k amd);
_3+ rooms (~110+ sq. m.) for lectures and coworking;
_a separate entrance with 24/7 access (ideally, a standalone house or building where we won't disturb neighbors with sound classes, though we don't blast music after 22:00);
_basic interior condition that we can adapt to our needs (acoustic treatment, drilling shelves, etc. — but we're ready to restore it to the original state when moving out);
_must have electricity, water supply, heating system, and a toilet;
_optional: kitchen, yard, additional garage/basement.

about us: sec is a non-profit educational and creative project with a social mission. we are a responsible community of musicians, artists, engineers, teachers, and learners. we do lectures, courses, music, art, and organize public cultural events at various venues, supporting aspiring artists and cultural actors.

please share this post to help us find our new home!
if you know of any options, let us knowww//

dm to @dumb_gum or @sayoimu if you find something goooooooood__

hello, everybody!
we found amazing house for sec!
soon we are planning moving to a new place.

but we need help and donation support for a stable processes in the beginning.
soon @sayoimu will create a crowdfunding campaign to collect money!

we are expecting to restart our sec_basics course, have a scheduled open lectures program and community gatherings events with sound performances/group cooking with @portalvkusa/more music and experiments.
no we have more space and that means more open activities for every sec_receiver!

big thanks to everybody who supported us in any way through the 1.5 year of existing!
we are not planning to stop our activity and this small step with independent and self sustained house is a big push for creating more together!

please, stay listened and consider becoming our member if you want to support us!
becoming a member will help us develop a system of independent project existence!

hello sec_scribers!
we are calling for community support to sustain new sec_4.0!

we’ve moved our old_sec into a new_sec, and now we’re rebuilding the space.
this is a huge step for us, and we’re turning it into a new chapter with the restart of our sec_basics course, more open lectures, gatherings, sound explorations, and hosting community growth/chill/some_very_serious fun.

in 2023, sec began with a personal loan to create a space where people could unite around music and sound, find a community of like-minded individuals, learn from each other, grow, and create together.
we’ve moved three times, and we’ve always maintained a non-commercial learning environment open to anyone drawn to our principles and interested in sound and community.

thank you to everyone who’s been involved!
we now have things we’d only dreamed of — enough rooms for lectures, practice, gatherings, a garage for a workshop, and a yard.

see the next post to know how you can contribute!
