Thanks to the efforts of RVX / ReVanced developers, the way to fix seekbar thumbnails issue (A side effect of spoof player parameter) was finally found.
I am grateful to them.

I will port the seekbar thumbnail fix to the ReVanced for Android 6-7 soon.

EDITED(10/2): I attempted porting and found it to be more difficult than I expected.
Unfortunately it will take more time...

🍭Introduction of "YouTube ReVanced for Android 5"🍭

RVX fork for Android 5.x was born!

Recently, Google blocked access from YouTube 16.40.36 (final version for Android 5.0/5.1) with this robot screen 🤖
However, ReVanced for A5 can bypass this blocking!
Apply disable-update-screen patch to 16.40.36 to avoid robot screen🤖💥

Ironically, ReVanced is now a only way to use official YouTube app on Android 5.x 🌚
I guess this method will work for another 6 months. (Until google shut out 16.40.36 completely)

Shorts seek in 17.34.36 🔥

Does anyone still experience crashes while watching Shorts?
I was trying to find the cause of the crash and the crash stopped occurring.
After that I cannot reproduce the crashes.
Tell me if you still have shorts crash.

If you have crashes on Shorts, please test turning off any of the following settings in ReVanced settings > Layout Settings

I've pinpointed the crash as being caused by the "hide-general-ads" patch.
But after that I cannot reproduce the crash anymore
So help me identity the setting that causes crash

History issue
Currently, there is a problem with watch history.

Problem:
• history not saved except Shorts
• the videos watched on ReVanced in the past are disappeared from history

Duration: Since 2024-02-28

Cause: "Spoof player parameter" settings

Progress:
• Official ReVanced team almost fixed this issue 🎉
• I will port that fix into the Android 6-7 patch after they released stable patch
They released the stable patch just after I post this lol

There was an issue with RVX Builder, but it has been fixed.

🔸Switch to ReVanced GmsCore
The official ReVanced Team released the new MicroG called "GmsCore".
It fixes "The following content..." issue.
From this patch version, old Vanced MicroG is not supported. You need the new ReVanced GmsCore.

1. Install ReVanced GmsCore
2. Re-patch the YouTube apk
3. Uninstall old VancedMicroG

How to solve buffering after 30-40 sec problem after migrating to GmsCore:

1. Disable battery optimization of GmsCore

Settings > Battery > 3-dots menu > Battery optimization > All apps > microG Services > Don't optimize.
OR
microG Settings > Self check > Tap Disable battery optimization.
(not tap the checkbox, tap the text)
(Ignore other self check items. It's not related to ReVanced GmsCore)

If it doesn't work:
2. Force stop GmsCore
