America was quite literally founded on the basic concept of non-compliance in the face of heavy-handed Govt overreach.

The fact is that holding firm to the lawful line/belief that “we will not comply” is neither an undemocratic threat nor does it represent an un-American conviction. The truth is that it's quite the opposite on both fronts, and I for one see no need to break with tradition now.
