Ping with timestamp on Windows Command Prompt

Hi all,

This is a simple loop to output pings with a timestamp. This shows 1 ping (not 4) using the -n flag then repeats. Note, the timezone is your computers default timezone.

Commands:

Just output:
for /L %i in () do (call echo ^%time^% & ping -n 1 8.8.8.8)
Just append to `test.txt` (or any file name)
for /L %i in () do (call echo ^%time^% & ping -n 1 8.8.8.8) >> test.txt

Example output:

10:57:16.36

Pinging `8.8.8.8` with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=11ms TTL=116

Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
Packets: Sent = 1, Received = 1, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 11ms, Maximum = 11ms, Average = 11ms

If anyone knows of a simpler way while utilizing the original command prompt (not authorized to install any applications) please share it. Just looking for a simple, date single ping loop to find spikes of latency between endpoints.

each of the Myfold folders contains subfolders SubA and SubB. I need to move each SubA to a specific folder or to the Rootfolder

Best way to transfer C: Drive to a new computer

I'm buying a new computer that will be here by the end of the week, and I plan on selling my old computer. What is the best way to transfer everything from my current C: drive and put it on the new computer once it gets here? I have an internal hard drive that I could clear up enough storage to transfer everything directly onto it, but I have no idea how that would actually work.

Is it possible to mod or make a fork of Windows Media Player?

I'm in the process of learning code and by the time I get into C++ I've been wondering if it's possible to just fix WMP. I already love the layout and the UI I would just need to fix the matroska video compatibility, the album art not being shown sometimes, etc. I figured because this is most likely Microsoft's property that it wouldn't be open source like that but like I said I really like the album library view and if I were to code my own media player in C++ it would be heavily inspired by WMP so I figured if I could just fix what's wrong with it, that would be sufficient

Easy photo selection process.

I have a bunch of photographs that I want to make a selection. "Photos" app make the process easy especially with the filmstrip feature. My problem is that even though I can drag and copy a photo to a folder it would be much more easier for me to move said photo. I looked into the settings and I haven't found anything. Is there a way or some simple app that can do that?

Is there a good reason why the Windows App, which has replaced the Remote Desktop app, cannot connect to a Windows remote desktop server when using the app on a windows device?

They've ended support for the app that this Windows App replaces, but the old app could do it just fine and pretty well at that. So why would the new app be less capable?

How do I recreate this display and search?

So a while back i stumbled across a screen which was a tinting my screen in blue and had changed my cursor to a white circle/teardrop shaped cursor. There was a search bar kind of thing on the top, and the whole purpose of the function seemed to be to search with screenshots. And no, i do not have any app for this. The problem is, I have no Idea how I came across it, or what its named either. But the worst part is that I have no idea what buttons or touch on my touchscreen generated it to appear on my screen.

Does anyone know what this is and what buttons/touch generates it?

Curious: Do you use Virtual Desktops?

So I don't know if Virtual Desktops are more commonly used than I think. So I'm curious!

cuz the people around me don't seem to use that feature (Family, Friends, etc.) and most of them don't even know about the feature! So I'm now showing them this really cool feature. cuz OMGG why have I not been using this WAY EARLIER when I got a pc? I've only ever seen the 'Task View' button but have always removed it cuz it takes unnecessary space when I didn't really use it then. But recently I explored it and it's SOOO USEFUL! No more cluttered multiple open windows cuz they're properly organized between different desktops. I do have to say, the animation is pretty SLOW when you try to switch, but I fixed it with everything else that's slow when I disabled unnecessary animations in the Settings. Yeah, disabling ALL animations isn't for everyone but it makes switching faster and I can't turn back. (If you love the animations, you can actually download a mod in Windhawk which disables JUST the Virtual Desktop's switching animation. That way you can still see all animations in Windows EXCEPT switching Desktops, which is WAY FASTER without animations.)

Anyways, I think this is my actual first time typing this much on Reddit, sorry about the yap! But yeah, I'm just curious! Do you use Virtual Desktops? and If so, additional question, how would you "sell" this feature to someone who doesn't use it?
