📃 The luminous words of Imam Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq (p) about his noble uncle Abul-Faḍl al-ʿAbbās (p) confirm that the Qur’anic verse:
إِنَّ الَّذينَ قالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقامُوا
“Surely those who say: ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ then remain steadfast…”

was fully realized in the blessed existence of the Moon of Banī Hāshim, al-ʿAbbās (p).

✅ This is shown clearly in the testimony of Imam al-Ṣādiq (p) in Ziyārat Abal-Faḍl al-ʿAbbās, where he says:

▫️«أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ لَمْ تَهِنْ وَ لَمْ تَنْكُلْ وَ أَنَّكَ مَضَيْتَ عَلَى بَصِيرَةٍ مِنْ أَمْرِكَ»

“I bear witness that you never showed weakness and never held back, and that you moved forward with clear insight (baṣīrah) in your mission.”

The phrase لَمْ تَهِنْ وَ لَمْ تَنْكُلْ
means: “you did not weaken, and you did not retreat.”
It strongly shows constant, complete, unbroken steadiness and firmness, the very meaning of istiqāmah (continuous standing strong). This kind of steadfastness comes only from deep insight, as the Imam (p) himself explained in another narration:
▫️«كان عمّنا العبّاس نافذَ البصيرةِ، صُلبَ الإيمان»
