The real thing with ADHD is not "I forgot", but that forgetting is this ongoing process. I remembered! And then I forgot.

At ten this (hypothetical) morning I remembered that I have a meeting at six. And then from 11 through 3 I worked on other stuff and had zero thoughts about that meeting. Maybe even thought about what I was gonna do with my evening at home. Got attached to the idea of taking the time to make a good dinner, maybe play some video games.

And then at three I said, "Oh! Fuck!" and remembered again, hopefully long enough to set an alarm. And then I went to the bathroom and remembered that I need to clean the counter and spent twenty minutes cleaning the bathroom and went to get a snack and then at five I said, "OH! FUCK!" and had to scramble to dress like a real adult and get out the door. source

Love when I point out a problem with capitalism and people are like "oh so we should hate and shun technology and live like peasants" like living good is a sin we must atone to the God of Socialism by living in medieval villages. I say something like "climate change is bad" and they're like "then we must destroy all industry", I say something like "space exploration is good" and they're like "no only billionaries do that that is a sin", I say something like "electronics in the first world are artificially cheap by exploitation" and they literally, like right now, just said to me "have you heard of luddites they had good ideas".

It's never about dismantling current oppressive systems and building a better society, as socialism as the path to a communist society, it's always about getting punished. Because of your Sins.

"Pride is about you.

"It's about your queer friend who's learning where they fit in in the world.
It's about the person who was so nervous to come out to their family but was met with love and hugs and tears.

"It's about the person whose coming out didn't have such a loving response.
It's about the person who always knew but didn't know how to say it out loud.

"It's about the brave one who expresses their pride despite their community trying to stifle their voice.

"Pride is for those who live their truth.
Pride is for those who aren't ready to live it yet.

"Pride is about love, affirmation, celebration, and solidarity.

"I follow the "leave nothing but footprints take nothing but photos" rule of state/national parks yeah because conservation.

"But also because when I was 11 i read a short story about a girl who went to a museum and stole a bandage flake off a mummy on display with the mentality of "im just one person one piece won't be missed" then at night she was visited by the mummy and it plucked a single hair from her head and then the next night a different mummy took another hair and she realized that there were only so many pieces to her before there would be nothing left and that story was forever wedged in my brain.

"Anyways leave cool rocks where you find them or the mummies will get you" source

Hey hey, as a librarian, can I just say don’t pace yourself at the library. I get a lot of customers saying “oh I shouldn’t get too many books out at once” but like you should!!!! Max out your card, take everything we have on a subject you’re interested in, make a book fort in your home. We love that shit! It doesn’t matter if you read them or not; just take them for an adventure and bring them back whenever they’re due!

For public libraries, one of the ways we secure funding year to year is lending. Governments don’t want to fund more books if they’re not being used and the way we measure use is by issues. Regardless of whether you read it or not, whether you have it for a day or a month, if you issue it to your library card, we get the stats! It makes the library look good!

Help your local library; get books out even if you know you can’t read them all! source
