"Advice I gave someone today was: 'do it stupid.'
"She wants to learn photography. Do it stupid. Take a million photos. Don't think about why they're not good. Enjoy the process of taking photos.
"Pick out the ones you like the most and figure out why you like them. Is it because the subject is centered? Is it because you caught them doing something cool? Is it because the light made cool shadows?
"Do it stupid. If you try to do it smart, youll get stuck. If you think too much you'll never get to doing. Do it stupid." source

Idk who needs to hear this, but “it could always be worse” is a genuinely harmful mindset. And that applies to multiple situations whether it be mental health or physical health. Yes it could be worse, but it could also be significantly better. You deserve to reach out for help before you drown in your issues. No matter if someone drowns in 4 feet of water or 20, they are still just as dead. source

i wish there was an easier way to tell the difference between an "if it sucks hit da bricks" situation and a "sometimes being an adult means doing things that you dont wanna" situation
Tumblr user respectissexy:
The best answer to this that I've seen is "You are free to do whatever you like. You must only live with the consequences."
"If it sucks, hit da bricks" is for when you realize that you actually definitely can live with the consequences of Not Doing The Thing.
"Sometimes being an adult means doing things that you don't wanna" is for when you've thought it over and it turns out you would strongly prefer NOT to live with the consequences of Not Doing The Thing. source
