A champion of LGBTQ+ causes and a supporter of trans kids, we will all miss her leadership and public service. Prayers for Sen. Hoffman and his wife as they fight to recover. source
Comunidad‼️You have a right to not take your children to protests. But it IS allowed. And it IS powerful. But we need to do it RIGHT.
I’ve seen too many parents IRL and on social media show up unprepared, putting their kids at risk because they didn’t think through the reality of what demonstrations can become. I’ve seen kids get tear gassed and otherwise look terrified.
I’ve been witnessing the passion and fire we are carrying and it is BEAUTIFUL, but our children’s safety should come FIRST. Always.
We’re not just marching or protesting. We are MODELING what it looks like to stand up for what’s right.
We’re showing our kids that their voices MATTER and that change requires ACTION. But we’re doing it SMART.
Our kids are watching how we navigate this world. We need to show them what courage looks like, what being prepared, mindful, and intentional looks like. We must show them that fighting for justice AND keeping our familias safe can co-exist. They are BOTH non-negotiable. source

Grave offerings and burying the dead with tools and goods is actually such a deeply human thing to do. It's not really even necessarily about how much you believe in a literal afterlife or them taking the tools with them. It's also just going Wait, I'm Not Done Taking Care Of You, let me make you one more pair of socks so your feet won't be cold when you go wherever it is where I can't follow. source

It honestly doesn't matter how easily a job is, people spend hours of their lives working...that they'll *never* get back. We give up our lives for jobs & we should be paid a living wage. Our time on earth is limited and valuable, it NEEDS to be paid for accordingly. source
