[Magnus Protocol s2e19] damn Elias Bouchard (the real one) cannot catch a break no matter the universe.

First you get bodysnatched by a 200 yo genocidal cultist and not only nobody notices, but they praise "you" for finally "getting your shit together" (Magnus Archives), and then you get unceremoniously killed as a "warning" for you niece, which calls you a fucking idiot for doing what would eventually kill you without even feeling sorry for your death (Magnus Protocol). AND IN THE MEANTIME, everyone in the audience forget you exist because the guy that bodysnatched you is a despicable piece of shit with a huuuge personality that overshadows everything you are, so your VERY NAME is never used to refer to you but to the other asshole.

What a shit life, a very tragic character

The ritual of Siaynoq in God Emperor (around p. 200) has profound similarities with the spice orgies in Dune while differing in some key factors

They both are a shared experiences within a restricted community to ensure unity of purpose and unquestioning loyalty towards a common goal, and I am certain that is a deliberate choice made by both Leto and Herbert himself. You can feel the awe-inspiring solemnity of an immense crowd performing the same action in unison, it's a display of power that all military forces employ to communicate strength both phisical and ideological

Spice orgies had the purpose of strengthening the bonds within a sietch, a shared experience to remind each member of the tribe that they are not alone, that the survival of the whole is paramount in an environment as deadly as the old Dune, that each tradition was born out of necessity rather than selfish desire. There is a reason why men had multiple wives, why anyone, man, woman and child, was taught how to kill and defend themselves, why there were strict rules and taboos

3000 years later, Siaynoq serves a similar purpose while being deeply different in its philosophy. Both its participants and its scope are enlarged to the extreme, thousands of people take part to renew their oath to ensure the survival of the whole human race, but it is a small group imposing their will against all others. It is not the tribe recognising necessary hardship to ensure a future for the whole, it's the righteous, enlightened few enforcing their zealous convictions on a humankind which does not, and cannot, understand the reasons of such enforcement. It's not performed in a communal place where everyone can enter and join, it's in an underground, secret location known only to those it can influence the most and in the right ways. It's not a celebration of the many working together to survive together, it's the celebration of the One True God and their status as the living deity, born from themselves through their will to ensure the messianic salvation of every individual human through their sacrifice.

Once again Herbert demonstrates his vast knowledge of theology and religious philosophy in a subtle way. Siaynoq is the culmination of Leto's dogma and the foundation of their status as God Emperor. Truly a masterfully written scene
