Excellent video from Mrs. Midwest, one of the OG tradwives, addressing the ways in which homemaking content has "lost the plot." Some points she makes:

- a lot of tradwife content currently going viral is rage bait or thinly veiled fetish material
- there's a lot of smoke and mirrors from viral tradwives on how they make it on one income
- we do not give wife benefits to boyfriends. Do not live with a man or have his children without a legal marriage
- not every man will have a wife, because a lot of men do not deserve wives
- it is good for women to have their own bank accounts, credit cards, and retirement plans
- if you are a homemaker, you deserve to "take up space" and desire more than just food and shelter. If your husband has agreed to provide for you, then he also agrees to subsidize your pleasures
- you should have contingency plans for what happens if your husband leaves you or dies. You should not become a homemaker until your husband pays for a life insurance policy on himself.

There's more, but you'll just have to watch for the rest. Mrs. Midwest is still a tradwife and homemaking influencer. But her experiences with traumatic childbirth and her husband being incapacitated for several months due to a workplace related injury have brought her content a refreshing amount of realism.
