Italian journalist and analyst Mario Seminerio's comment on the hostile tender offering that a minor, limping government-backed local bank (Monte Paschi di Siena) is doing to a big, Italian commercial bank (Mediobanca), with the Government's placet, basically with the unspoken purpose of remunerating the biggest shareholders of Mediobanca (who are also Monte Paschi's) at the expense of taxpayers and MPS's investors.

The most idiotic elected officials in U.S. history are actually right when they say Europeans have been freeloading and outsourcing world peace and security to the United States. As Europeans, we bear the burden and cost of refusing unity under a federal union.

That doesn’t mean U.S. officials are entitled to act like insufferable cunts about it—but deep down, they're right in claiming we should stop relying on them and build our own federal army.

They don’t seem to realize the process they’ve triggered is, in fact, beneficial to Europe and harmful to their own soft power—but still, they’re right.
"All people who live subject to other people's laws are victims. People who break laws out of greed, frustration, or vengeance are victims. People who overturn laws in order to replace them with their own laws are victims. (| am speaking here of revolutionaries.) We outlaws, howeve, live beyond the law. We don't merely live beyond the letter of the law-many businessmen, most politicians, and all cops do that-we live beyond the spirit of the law. In a sense, then, we live beyond society. Have we a common goal, that goal is to turn the tables on the nature of society. When we succeed, we raise the exhilaration Content of the universe. We even raise it a little bit when we fail."
