SIGNIFICANCE OF PLASSEY AND BUXAR
The battle of Plassey and Buxar proved to be of immense historical significance placed the British mastery over Bengal subsequently the whole of India. It boosted British prestige and raised them to the status of major power for the Indian Empire. The revenue of Bengal enables the company to organise huge army and enabled them to mate the expenses of the conquest of the rest of India. Buxar was more significant than Plassey. The victory of Plassey might be said as a victory by chance but the success and Buxar demonstrated better organisation, planning and coordination of the companies army and the superior generalship of Hector Munro. Indians where lacking unity and command.
