A really good history lesson on negotiations. Trying to make one side to an argument is never the best idea and should be rejected as a concept.
The Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, officially ended World War I by establishing peace terms between Germany and the Allied nations. It was a harsh settlement that forced Germany to accept full blame for the war, pay massive reparations, cede territory, and significantly reduce its military. These punitive measures created deep resentment in Germany, with many historians arguing they helped create the conditions for the outbreak of World War II.
