The Cardiology Division of SPHMMC, in collaboration with the Global Cardiovascular Collaborative, successfully conducted a two-day Coronary Mission. During the event, eight complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) were performed including Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO), Stent Restenosis and Trifurcation Stenting with excellent outcomes—demonstrating the team's expertise and commitment to advancing cardiovascular care.
Beyond the interventions, the mission emphasized skill transfer, empowering the local cardiology team through hands-on training in advanced interventional techniques to ensure ongoing quality care.

P2P Donates Books to SPHMMC’s Department of Pathology on World Book Day 2025

William Bekele Concludes Term as Student Council President, Sifen Dereje Elected as Successor at SPHMMC.
William Bekele has successfully concluded his term as Student Council President at Saint Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College, leaving behind a legacy of strong leadership and advocacy. During his tenure, William Bekele served on key committees, including the Academic Committee, Senate, and Discipline Committee, ensuring that student voices were heard and their concerns addressed. His ability to balance student representation with his medical studies helped foster collaboration between students, faculty, and administration.
With William’s departure, Sifen Dereje has been elected as the new Student Council President. Known for her dedication and leadership skills, Sifan is eager to build on the foundation laid by her predecessor. Her focus on student welfare and her commitment to fostering positive change are expected to guide her tenure as she works closely with the college community. The college looks forward to supporting her vision for continued progress and development.

SPHMMC has officially launched a one-year Women’s Heart Care Project aimed at improving care for pregnant women with heart disease. The initiative seeks to establish a dedicated cardio-obstetric program that provides comprehensive, specialized care while also serving as a model for national scale-up.
Supported by the U.S.-based Global Heartcare Foundation, the project also aims to generate local research evidence that will inform future clinical practices and health policy related to maternal cardiac care.
In a significant step toward collaborative implementation, a MoU was signed between SPHMMC and the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia. This partnership highlights a shared commitment to improving women's cardiovascular health and advancing maternal care standards across the country.
