With tracks for both native Secret Network dApps and cross-chain EVM, Solana, and Cosmos SDK dApps, this flexible hackathon is open to all Web3 developers. It features a $12,000 prize pool, including a $5,000 bounty from Sei (https://www.sei.io/) for cross-chain Sei x Secret dApps.

HackSecret 4 runs from September 16th to October 16th. Throughout the month we'll be hosting educational workshops and open calls to assist hackers with any questions they may have. We’re excited to announce a partnership with Native, which will bring decentralized confidential computing to Bitcoin.

Through this partnership, Native will provide secure and programmable Bitcoin to Secret, and Secret will integrate its Confidential Computing Layer with Native. This will unlock exciting new capabilities for both networks.

On Secret, DeFi applications will gain access to a secure source of Bitcoin over IBC, via Native. Native leverages advanced MPC cryptography to enable access and control of native Bitcoin, without the need for bridging or wrapping.

On Native, Bitcoin-powered applications will gain access to decentralized confidential computing (DeCC) via Secret’s Confidential Computing Layer. Incorporating DeCC will enable features such as private voting for DAOs and encrypted order books for DeFi applications.

This partnership represents a significant milestone in advancing privacy-preserving applications for Bitcoin.

This integration took a significant amount of work. Previously, Secret’s Confidential Computing Layer was limited to connecting to EVM and IBC chains. Over the past several months, we further developed our cross-chain communication protocol, SecretPath, so that it could be deployed on Solana. We’re proud to finally release this to the public, and look forward to seeing some amazing Secret x Solana dApps built.

This is a massive step on Secret’s path to bringing decentralized confidential computing (DeCC) to all of Web3!

In 2025, the core network development will continue along the plan set out in 2024. We will capitalize on all the learning and insights gathered in 2024, and attack the more difficult problems.
This year, we decided to split the core network roadmap into three lanes: Security, Scalability and Features.

From EVM, to MRENCLAVE and FHE, to a new Wasm engine and TEE compatibility, we are ready to take Secret Network to new heights in 2025 by hardening security, and scaling network and user experience.
