Nell Gwynne - 1 Bull Inn Ct, #CoventGarden, #London, #WC2R

The Nell Gwynne is a beautiful example of how many great things come in small packages. This hidden diamond has served the people of #London for far longer than the modern developments that surround it. Our pubs are some of the few buildings (apart from churches) that still trade as they did centuries ago. Most other buildings have become offices or something completely unappealing. Meanwhile, people pass the pubs of Britian without understanding that they're living evidence of British history and culture. We'd like to thank the staff for being particularly accommodating as it makes our life easier and the experience even more special. The busy and bustling region of #CoventGarden has a few genuine beauties left in which to enjoy. The trick is to know which ones mean and offer the most.

PUB EMERGENCY 🚨🚨🚨🚨

Calling all pub and culture lovers to help save the last pub in the town of #GreatBourton, #Oxfordshire, #England

Help save The Bell Inn, Manor Road, Great Bourton, #Banbury#OX17

> Last pub in rural location.
> Landlady left in 2023.
> The brewery struggled to replace
> They decided to sell the pub
> Tried to sell it as a business at a fairly outlandish price, then they slashed the price right down and have now sold it to a developer, who goes round the country converting pubs into dwellings or other businesses like care homes.
> They hope to sneakily carry it out through the holidays.

Please visit the 'Save the bell' website and help make a difference.

The Cockpit- 7 St Andrew's Hill, #CityofLondon, #London, #EC4V

We visited one of #Londons' finest to discuss its historic and current brilliance. Many times have we covered pubs that are long gone or pubs that mightn’t have long to live. But every now and then, we cover pubs that you're able to add to your own repertoire. Many pubs that still look gorgeous from the outside have gutted their interior to better suit modernistic standards. The cockpit, however, has maintained its brilliance inside and out. We hugely appreciate those who watch and share our content, as well as those who frequent the pubs we mention. We hope you'll continue to do. If not with the public, be sure to share this pub and others with friends in the hope that pub and culture lovers find us and our journey.

The reason that nobody seems to hear each other is because everybody has become so used to waiting for one another to finish each other's sentence that they've forgotten how to listen.

The Old Bell Tavern 🔔 - 95 Fleet St, Greater, #CityOfLondon, #London, #EC4Y

#FleetStreet was one of the most important places in #London for a long time. Like Lombard Street was for banking, or Cloth Fair was for textiles, Fleet Street was the home of printing and journalism. As with each of these areas, there's far more to Fleet Street and the 'Old Bell' than meet the eye. From its tales of England's journalistic pioneers to rumours of the secret service, this little gem is a treasure chest of goodies. Join myself (@VinnieSullivan) and @ChelseaDan5 as we visit this beauty and explain a few reasons as to why it, and its like, should be preserved or imitated long into the future.

#SaveOurPubs - The Lord Nelson (386 Old Kent Rd, London, #SE1) 🍻

ChelseaDan5 and I (@VinnieSullivan) visit a classic pub to discuss its recent issues and how they affect the pub world altogether. This pub is one of two remaining on the entirety of south London's Old Kent Road, which should make it something to protect, not forsake or forget. It's important that we observe and spread awareness of such cases not only because we need to save our pubs but to shed light on the many wonderful individuals who work hard to keep them alive. Thank you for all for the support. It means the world to us. 🤝

The Lost Legend Of British Boxing - #RIP The Thomas A Becket (320 #OldKentRoad, South #London, #SE1) 🥊🍻

#RIP to a legend in the boxing world. This pub once hosted an almighty boxing gym that saw and produced world-class fighters. As well as this, the pub was a chance for local people to earn a few bob or even make themselves wealthy. Just like the Docklands of East London, this area of South London was made up of dock workers living in pre/post war England. The people of south London's Docklands had next to nothing other than each other, be it for better or for worse. Generations of #Londoners witnessed the massive changes that saw them move out to suburbs like #Kent, leaving this once proud area to become hyper-modernized.

The ‘Prospect of Whitby’ - A Home For Pirates, Scoundrels and Scallywags (57 #Wapping Wall, #London, #E1W) 🏴‍☠️🦜🍻

We were given exclusive access to the upstairs of one of #London's oldest and most famous pubs. The Prospect of Whitby is both a museum and a relic to Great #Britain. This was once one of the most dangerous places one could drink whichever side of the law you sat. A range of interesting people, both historic and contemporary, have drank within its walls. The Prospect, like a few other pubs, claims to be the oldest (Thames) Riverside pub in #London. We could have spoken about this pub and its history for hours, but narrowed it down to just under half an hour. Wapping wasn't only dangerous in the golden age of piracy, but it was a vital part of London's shipping trade during the lead up and the height of the British empire.

Murderous Modernity ☠️
#RIP The Tiger Tavern, Tower Hill, #London, #EC3N ⚰️

Another short video covering the never-ending decline or British pubs and the culture that dies with them. I do not see new buildings, I see the unnecessary erasure of important relics thanks to ridiculous excuses. We're told we need this to happen to keep up with the tourists, but what are the tourists even coming to see when the natives have been left with little to call our own?

The Smoking Ban 🚫 🚬

Pubs, clubs, and Britian as a whole were deeply affected by the "Smoking Ban" and the precedent that it set. We all have our opinions, just as we all have our own desires. But it seems the opinions and desires of some outweighed that of others. This is a brief overview discussing the other side of the coin.

We hope you understand that we respect people's right to want their own spaces, but not to dictate how others should operate within theirs.

Join us as we briefly embark upon the history of the Anchor pub and how the many facets of medieval, Tudor, Jacobean, and Caroline era #Southwark played such key roles in its popularity. Today the pub is still frequented by hordes of people from, or visiting #London. But I wonder how many truly appreciate its physical brilliance or its historical relevance.

The Shakespeare’s Head And It’s Historic Connection To The #Policing Of #London 👮‍♂️⛓️🍻

The 'Shakespeare's Head' is a world unto itself. This little safe haven is as comforting as it is social. Jason, who kindly opens the pub at 11:30 every day for his customers, runs a charming pub that sits beside a very interesting and historic wall associated with policing, and apparently, crime. This flat-roof pubs friendly atmosphere has gained it many visits and friends from a great many actors from Sadler's Wells theatre, as well as serving many loyal locals. Join us as we visit Jason, the wall, and this fine establishment.
