Hey Fetch-ai Network community. After taking your feedback into account on making governance proposals more inclusive for discussions, here is our new framework - Fetch Improvement Proposals 👇

Going forward, any governance proposals on the Fetch-ai Network will have a dedicated discussion thread open on Github for you to come and share your opinions.

FIPs can also be used to propose new features in the Fetch ecosystem or changes to existing infrastructure. Anyone is welcome to create one. Basic knowledge on creating pull requests on Github is required to create a FIP.

The Fetch Foundation, as the current core developer of the Fetch ecosystem, reserves the right to be the reviewer of FIPs.

We are creating the first FIP and would like to invite the community to participate and share their opinion. FIP-001 aims to reduce the voting period on the Fetch network from 14 days to 5 days 👇

This proposal seeks to reduce the voting period for governance proposals on the Fetch-ai Network from 14 days to 5 days

The next FIP (FIP-002) is up and running and we would like to invite the community to participate and share their opinion.

FIP-002 aims to raise max_gas setting to 3M FET from 2M FET and increase the max bytes per block from 200KB to 300KB

Why is this FIP important for the Fetch-ai Network 🧵👇

➡️As Fetch-ai Network scales with more new #dApps, complex smart contracts will need these higher limits to launch
➡️ The values proposed in this FIP for the max_gas and max bytes have proven to be appropriate for the complex smart contracts on the testnet where such DApps have been successfully testing
➡️Therefore, these parameter changes now need to be applied on the Mainnet

The discussion on FIP #002 about the necessity for all current and future projects to be able to utilize more complex smart contracts on @Fetch_ai Network is now closed and we are moving it to a proposal now for the community to vote on

Future #Dapp deployments on @Fetch_ai Network will need complex smart contracts, so we identified two parameters to upgrade:
1. max_gas from 2M to 3M
2. max bytes per block from 200KB to 300KB

These parameters were tested extensively on our testnet "Dorado" and successfully passed all the tests.

Now we are looking to implement these parameters along the same specs on the @Fetch_ai Network
