Mauricio Pochettino:
"I think everyone that was watching the game feels disappointed. When the referee sees nothing and then goes with VAR to change. I'm going to say nothing bad... it's unbelievable, it's ridiculous. It's difficult to accept."
"[The referee] said that it was a foul. If you see the challenge... what happens if every single challenge like this is a foul? We would never finish with 11 players. That's the difficult thing to understand."
"I am not frustrated. I am relaxed and calm. I don't want to say anything wrong. I say 'look, that was a goal'. What can we do?"
"The performance, overall, was really good. We dominated the game. In the first half, we conceded two soft goals. To come here and play against Aston Villa... very pleased with the performance."

Noni Madueke:
"Should it have been three points? Yes. Do I think the goal should have stood? Yes. Nothing else to say about the situation."
"We need to play better at times in phases of the game. We have an abundance of quality and when we fire we're a match for any team. The last game was terrible. For 70 minutes today the team were outstanding."
"It's a process. I'm proud of the team today. We beat them here earlier in the season as well. We wanted to come here and win but it wasn't to be."

Mauricio Pochettino:
"Damaged myself, damaged my team, my players, my fans."
On Thiago Silva:
"A pain in his groin. Similar to the injury he got at Crystal Palace."
"We started the game and conceded, it was difficult to manage. We deserved to win but I am pleased we were able to perform against a team in a very good position and show we can compete in this way."
On summer plans:
"We need to assess the players and to project for the future, but that is a thing the owners, sporting directors and us, we will need to talk. We are open to talk and see when we talk."
On Moises Caicedo:
"Not only Moi, but I thought the whole team was good. But Moi was also good."

Today made me believe more in the players. A good system would make them thrive π―. This squad isnβt the 9th best in the league. The difference between the teams on top of us is the manager clearly.
MoisΓ©s Caicedo's game by numbers vs. Aston Villa:

91% pass accuracy
15 passes into final β (most)
12/14 duels won (most)

HUGE shift. π€

Happy 36th birthday, Juan Mata! π
A true gentleman, and an iconic player for the Blues. π

Pochettino: "I think the way we change the energy and dominate a good team like Aston Villa, I think that shows everyone that we are able to compete. If you analyse the 99 minutes, I think we were the better side."
Given the circumstances last night of having a really thin squad and options. The 2nd half performance without James, Nkunku, Gusto, Enzo, Colwill, Carney and even Sterling was a real positive.
Arguably our weakest defence we could put out and we looked really comfortable.
Hopefully we build on that and continue to improve

Omari Hutchinson scored two beautiful goals & created 3 chances Last night. Balling out for Ipswich.. βοΈ
Would you keep or loan out Omari Hutchinson next season?
BBC Pundit Michael Brown on Nicolas Jackson: βHe is going to get better. I just also think a team that is not always doing too well does not help a player trying to be the focal point at the top of the pitch.
There is a lot of room for improvement but we have seen some signs of the talent that is expected.β
