I can't say the same for Palmer at no.10 despite his goal.
He isn't dictating the game like he used to at RW although he's still performing.
What a player π

Poch is starting to get tactical variations with increasing squad number, also i think his general undertsanding of the squad has developed and the players are getting an overall understanding of their roles in the squad.
Chalobahβs communication at the back has been top notch too. We are actually able to defend properly as a unit.

So much happening in that half. Think we anticipated Brighton staying narrow and trying to win it in build up by stretching the last two lines and forcing Brighton to press out. Caicedo was at RB at one point, Gusto inverting to pin the FB and disrupting a CM. Same on the left.

I think he wants to use Cole as a decoy now to prevent overloads at the wings to create space for the wingers like Madueke to do their stuff. Cole was contantly followed by Gilmour for most parts of the game because teams have started strategizing on how to stop him, but somehow this guy still does his doings, what a player!!!
Brighton in the first half.

Nkunku has been on a different level. The assurance he radiates while shielding the ball, the decision-making under pressure, the execution in tight spaces is a breath of fresh air, and the kind of quality that separates where we are and where we want to be.

Christopher Nkunku this PL season:
2 starts

Very unnecessary challenge by James, heβs uncontrollable when heβs annoyed and really needs to work on his temper, but how can this be a red and Lampteyβs elbow on Mudryk is not even reviewed????
We are very lucky to have Gusto, just pray he recovers on time so we can compete in the last game and seal that Europa League spot.
For the little who believed amidst doubts.
We are getting there
Best defensive performance this season in my opinion.
James cost us one.
Caicedo masterclass.
Cucuβs consistency.
2 assists from full backs
2 goals from great play.

Last season, Chelsea were 37 points off 4th place. 8 points off now. Fix injury crisis and have a team that has played one full season together, and we could just make the next big jump.

At the beginning of this season, if someone offered:
- A top-6 finish
- Emergence of a superstar
- Development of a 2nd choice
- Individual growth across the team
- Phasing out older players
- Adopting modern tactics (Albeit at the latter part of the season)
All of us would've taken it. And we may get it after all.

How we got here wasn't pretty, this season has been frustrating. We'll need to improve this. But if the result is good, it offers a springboard for growth.
I've been preparing an end-of-season analysis and it is promising. We've stumbled at times but ended on the right path.

Ngl the main reason Arsenal and Man City stay up the table every season is their injury records. Their crucial players have never had long-term injuries (except De Bruyne).
Examples are players like Rodri , Dias , Walker , Silva , Foden , Rice , Odegaard , Saliba etc. You come to Chelsea and UTD and you're shocked by the amount of important players missing for months
