🤝 “I expected a little bit the way we played in the first half. The reason why – and I said a week ago – you can’t give any advantage to a team and between them and us, 48 hours is a very difference.

“They played on Friday and had a game where they were playing for nothing. On Sunday, we played for 100 minutes, and played to the very last seconds to achieve something important.

𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: Clubs who were pursuing the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town are being informed that he is not moving to them, amid the England youth striker’s preference to join Chelsea.

Sources at teams including Manchester United, Newcastle United, Everton, Nottingham Forest, AC Milan and Juventus — speaking on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships — say they are now aware he is heading elsewhere.

Subject to agreement on personal terms and the requirements of Delap’s £30 million release clause being met, Delap will move to Chelsea.

Despite Ipswich’s struggles at the wrong end of the table — and subsequent relegation — Delap enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, scoring 12 goals in the Premier League.

The England Under-21 international has a £30million ($40m) release clause in his contract at Ipswich that became active following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

The 22-year-old’s personal terms are not anticipated to be a problem and he is now expected to move to Stamford Bridge.
